Promises That Will Pacify Your Concerns
Identity
Your problem is how you are going to spend this one and precious life you have been issued. Whether you're going to spend it trying to look good and creating the illusion that you have power over circumstances, or whether you are going to taste it, enjoy it and find out the truth about who you are.
- Anne Lamott
Self know thyself, and to thine own self be true
Simple Definition of identity
: who someone is : the name of a person
: the qualities, beliefs, etc., that make a particular person or group different from others.
There is an Identity Crises in the world today. Everywhere you go you will find persons who are seeking to identify with something or someone, all to time in their quest to understand: "Who I Am." Oftentimes in their quest they end up identifying with something, someone, a group or organization that does not serve their purpose well enough.
The results may be disastrous.
When you do not have an identity or when you do not know your true identity you will not be able to make a meaningful contribution to life, because you do not know who you really are, and what is your purpose.
So then what is my identity? Who am I? Who do I think I am?
Oftentimes people base their identity on what they do, the kind of job they have, the amount of money they have or the status they may hold in their church, community or society. But is that truly, who your are?
Here are some facts:
Some Scriptural verses on Identity:
1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
........................................
God knows your identity, and it is about time that you become conscious of your identity by seeing yourself as God sees you.
1 Thessalonians 5:4-5
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
........................................
When you become spiritually conscious of who you are and what is your purpose in life then you become a "child of the light," having wisdom, knowledge and understanding, you will no longer dwell in the darkness of ignorance, you will no longer be tossed and turn or be like a chaff being blown around by every wind that bloweth. You will be however focus and sure about what you want to aspire to in life.
Your purpose is ever evolving. God does not reveal all of your purpose in one lump sum. God adds new level to it as you begin to fulfill each part.
Matthew 5:13-14
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

My brother, my sister, get this message please, ponder upon it and let it become a part of your being. You are here today, alive and well because you have some salting to do of the earth. There is some assignment that you were born to fulfill, there is some purpose for your life, you are not here by chance. There is some one you are here to help, to heal, to love, to comfort, to enhance, to nurture, whatever it is....you were born with an assignment.
God said to the prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet unto the nations."
So if you do not know firstly, who you are, how can you know which path to take in life or be of any assistance to another, you have therefore "lost your savor."
Ephesians 2:19
2 Corinthians 5:17
