SCRIPTURAL MANDATE

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor

(Luke 4:18-19)

Meditation is essential to the Body's Restoration Process

When we say the word health, we often times relate it to the body, a "healthy body." What about a healthy mind, soul, spirit? All these can be kept healthy by meditation. The mind, heart, and the body can improve with regular meditation. The human spirit can be train and developed by meditation . It is said that the relaxation process from meditation helps to decrease the metabolism, lower blood pressure, and improves heart rate, breathing, and brain waves. Meditation can also help to improve your personal and social relationships.

When we invest our time in meditating on scripture, we develop strong belief in our hearts. What we believe in our hearts will always win over what we know in our heads! Praying from such a position puts us into perfect agreement with God and bring about healing in our spirit, soul and body. Then the power of heaven comes pouring in on us and on the situation(s) for which we have been praying.

What is Meditation?

:Is the process of coming into awareness of whatever you need to know, by creating an atmosphere of calmness, and peace, when the mind is quiet from all other thoughts, but deliberately focus only on the area of concern that it needs some clarification about.

It is this deliberate focus, once it is steadfast and powerful, and the mind is adjusted that you will be permitted to see and become aware of the thing you desire in meditation. That is why there is a call to meditate day and night, consistently.

Any desire which realizes itself is always a desire which you had given exclusively concentrated attention (meditate), for an idea becomes powered up only in proportion to the degree of attention fixed on it. If it does not get enough power to bring it into manifestation it will not become manifested.

So the individual whose desire is to know about God, must consistently meditate on Him, if the desire is to understand the word, to know oneself or whatever it may be, concentrated attention, focus must be made on the desire before it will realize. Meditation enables you - it is the key.

In this stillness God speaks, in this quietness, in this concentrated attention, the I Am within speaks to us, and guides us into all wisdom, knowledge, understanding,

and into all truth.

Be still and know that I Am God. The power of your attention on your desire is the measure of your inner force with which you will be able to shut down all other distractions, that are not related to the thing you desire. The desire that remains supreme is the one that was able to exclude all others from the field of attention,

and this desire will be the one that will discharge into action, or become manifested in your life.

Meditation on the Word of God:

1. Opens the line of communication with God:

Meditating of the word of God brings us in communication with God, in an intimate relationship wherein we discover more about God and His will for our lives, and also teaches us about ourselves as we compare, who we presently are, in comparison with whom God has created us to be. The word gives us an opportunity to do some self examination, it heals our minds into positive thinking about ourselves.

However we can only meditate of the word if we know it, and that means getting the spiritual interpretation of the word as we ask of the Holy Spirit for revelation.

That is why the palmist David said in Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. David found delight in meditating on the word of God, and so can you.

2. Gives us instruction on how to succeed

In Joshua 1:8, we read: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according

to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Here we see that meditating of the word of God, will help us to get clear and divine instructions and understanding on how to conduct our life affairs so that we will find success and prosperity. Solutions to all the issues of life can be found in the Word of God. Meditation of the word of God brings us in alignment with the frequency of God. We put ourselves right in the flow.

3. Helps us to keep the word alive in us.

Psalm 4:4 Tremble, and do not sin; Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

When we constantly meditate on the word of God, it become so alive in us that if we go to do anything that is contrary to the will of God in our life, that word of truth reminds and rebukes us, so we are cautioned not to enter into sin. Our souls are healed as our emotions are brought under control.

4. Gives us wise direction

Psalm 119:97-98 O how I love Your Law! It is my meditation all the day. Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever mine.”

When our enemies come against us, we are not afraid. Our constant attention and meditation of the word of God brings us in remembrance of the promise of God,

so we have a word to answer him who would reproach us. You learn strategic spiritual warfare strategies to conquer the enemy.

5. Teaches us of the character of God

Psalm 119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

We become more familiar about the characteristics of God when we meditate on his word.
