Perseverance
Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.
-------------Thomas Carlyle
Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.

“The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”

Simple Definition of perseverance:
1. the quality that allows someone to continue trying to do something even though it is difficult
2.steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc.,especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles,
or discouragement.
We live in a world where we will surely have trouble, there is no escaping it (John 16:33). Some trials and tribulations simply come from living in this world and are those which are common to mankind. Then there are some trouble is of an unique variety that only afflicts a child of God living in an unbelieving world. Some of our trials are internal, where we have wars and fighting within us —the “Romans 7” type—as we yearn to grow in grace, but sin is somehow still firmly rooted within us. Whatever is the type of struggles we face, we need a secure hope so that we will continue to “hang in there” while we are growing in grace.
In Hebrews 6:19 hope is called an “anchor for the soul.” Hope keeps us steadfast in our trusting God and more. (Romans 5:2-5) We can remain steadfast, trusting God through present difficulties and pains, because we know the outcome…Only with a secure hope rooted in the faithfulness of God will we be able to weather the storms of life and persevere against all odds. It is our total confidence we keep within us knowing that God will complete the work He began in us that enables us to persevere over a lifetime. Without hope, many persons will find themselves giving up.
To be successful your life must not only be empowered by faith; it must also be sustained by hope, hope that you will have a good outcome. That is the only way that perseverance will be able to work at its best.
